Really wish we could give them zero stars. The whole experience from beginning to end was horrible. No one returns calls, workers showed up unannounced to start the job only to drop off all the supplies on my porch and leave due to "roof not prepped" when they installed a new roof. Then they showed up unannounced almost a month later and when I asked about the roof they said, "oh, I don't remember any problems on the roof". Main panel upgrade wasn't finished properly, wires exposed to the elements, etc. and when I brought the problems up each person tried to blame another department. No ownership of the problem and the problems are still not resolved. I have spoken to and communicated via email with several people from Sunrun and still they haven't completed the job. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR SOLAR, AVOID THEM! TRUST THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS YOU HAVE FOUND ON HERE.

I'll start with a little background. My wife & I purchased a home in Escondido in December 2021 and the previous owners had purchased the solar system from Sunrun. It was paid off in the purchase and the only thing I ever received from Sunrun was an email confirming that the contract account was transferred to us and no other communication or information about the system was provided. This was our first experience with solar and the previous owner's didn't give much information about it. My assumption was that Sunrun monitored the systems and if a problem existed, they would contact us. Buyer beware if the system is paid for because as I found out they only monitor the production and such if you lease from them. After several months living there our SDGE bill was fairly low at first and I noticed each succeeding month the bill was increasing more and more. In May when I finally realized that our system was not producing at all, I finally called Sunrun to ask about what was going on. They determined that the inverter was bad and sent out a guy to replace it. The man (Gabe) was very professional and pleasant and obviously very knowledgeable about the solar system and is the only reason I give two stars to the review. I was told that Sunrun would reimburse us for the time the system wasn't producing, as my bill since Dec when we moved in is now over $1000 for the true up balance and we have until September before it is due. After calling Sunrun again, as they didn't seem to be contacting me regarding the reimbursement costs, they told me that they would only provide reimbursement since the time the problem was reported. If I had known that, I would have called sooner as they are only going to give me a $86 credit since May. I hope this review is helpful to the next person that buys a home with "paid" solar as if you are getting high electric bills, call Sunrun immediately so they don't screw you out of all the time the panels should have been producing and weren't because nobody told us a damn thing about the system and what to expect and what to do if not. Get The Sunrun app and monitor it vigilantly so you don't end up having to pay a really high electric bill when you shouldn't have.

I'm currently waiting for my system to be repaired again! And once again your company has failed to perform. I have been in the customer services for over 40 years. Sunrun has by far the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. I'm waiting patiently for a return call/email from Case Manager Riley Beck on the status of my system repair. She has not followed up with updates as promised. Please review my customer history and you will see a pattern of my system not producing to it's full capacity. I assume I will be reimbursed monies due to the under performance of my system? My current case; #07994262, is too "ONCE AGAIN" replace one of my inverters. This is the second one to be replaced. And Sunrun recently had to replace all 30 of my solar panels because of the failure to preform. There has been 3 technicians this time looking at my system and each time someone tells me a different story off what's going on. This situation happens every time my systems fails. The technicians show up with no information on the past visit(s) and each time I speak to a Sunrun customer representative they always state "Sunrun understands your frustration"? If Sunrun really understood my frustration my system would be currently working 100%. As the CEO of Sunrun I would appreciate your attention to this matter. No one else seems to be doing their job!

Sunrun is the worst company and if I could get out of the contract I would.
Phone calls are never returned and every time I call I get a message that says the “project success specialist “is unavailable. I don’t think this person is ever there and definitely isn’t working to help customers.
We had the project start in November of 2021, it still is not finished. And to top it all off, I’ve received an electric bill for $300.00!!!
I thought solar was supposed to help.
They really deserve no stars. This company sucks!

I’ve never received such horrible customer service in my life. I echo another’s comment, “the whole experience from beginning to end was horrible.” Sunrun charged our Costco credit card before our solar was installed. It took over three months and hours of us contacting SunRun and Costco for answers. No one returns calls from Sunrun and Costco follow up was every two weeks (at best). The lack of communication from anyone at SunRun is unacceptable. I will NEVER do business with or recommend SunRun EVER.
