I’m frustrated with the lack of service after the purchase of a system from Solar Max San Diego. Is it not reasonable to expect that after you’ve spent 39k. to install a solar system. That a representative from Solar Max would come to your home and turn it on? Apparently if your Solar Max it is and if you dare request such a service . You must first spend time on the phone with your sales representative being talked down to, belittled and told that your request will cost you even more money. I’ve tried contacting there leadership/management to voice my concerns but Solar Max is well versed at avoiding these types of conversations. If I could do it all over again. I would have spent my money elsewhere. Now I’m stuck with a system that may or may not work and if I have future concerns with there system. I’m not confident that my situation will change.
As consumers we all should look out for one another. So I’m doing my part by sharing what has transpired after my purchase and hoping that it doesn’t happen to someone else. Solar Max San Diego, please follow through on your commitment to customer service.

Horrible customer service for warranty claims. I emailed their customer service department regarding a leaking roof due to their workmanship. After multiple emails and phone calls, they finally scheduled a repair date 5 weeks from the date of our claim. Their reason for the long wait was "there is an overwhelming amount of customers still waiting...since the last storm." This is a huge red flag. If they have an "overwhelming amount" of roof leaks due to one summer storm, that should be enough for anyone considering using SolarMax for a new system to look elsewhere. Furthermore, their solution to stopping the leaks was to slap a bunch of silicone caulking on the shingles and around their mounts. This is literally a band-aid that will not last in the hot southern California sun. They are looking for the least expensive way to get by until your warranty expires and you are stuck with a leaky roof.

We were in the process of researching solar when we received a "cold call" from SolarMax. We worked with Brandon Mezzanatto on our project. Brandon was extremely well informed, very personable and professional. Brandon helped us compare the benefits of installing SolarMax to others and walked us through the process from application to start up. Brandon articulated well the reason SolarMax was our clear choice and was available to us throughout every decision we made.
Additionally, we were extremely impressed with every other employee we came into contact with from measurement, engineering, installers, electricians and IT monitoring - everyone was fantastic! They were prompt, they communicated well and were very polite. They were well trained, proficient and expedient in their performance.
One of the primary reasons SolarMax stood head and shoulders above the rest was they did not impose a percentage increase annually in their contract. Others charged upwards to 3% annually. Compounded this adds up to be a significant amount by the end of the contract - even more than our current electric bill, and of which we would have been responsible for indefinitely.
All and all, we would rate this company "Five Star". Great Job Guys & Gals!!!

Great experience with Solar Max. Brandon Mezzanatto sold me my system in February 2014. He was very knowledgeable in solar overall. He answered all my questions, built me a system to meet my needs, and completed paper work involved with HOA and my tax refund! He was very courteous, efficient and he bent over backwards for a positive experience. He did all the work from the beginning and anything I needed he was a phone call away! It was an easy investment! Instant savings! My electric bill is $1 now. I definitely recommend Solar Max!

Our 5 kW photovoltaic system installation was just completed. From the Introduction to SolarMax during a presentation at their Riverside facility, to the completed job, our experience was a good one.
Our "Renewable Energy Consultant", Brandon Mezzanato was both knowledgeable and personable. He followed the installation from start to finish with periodic updates and scheduling information, and he answered the many questions that I asked.
Everyone involved was professional, competent, and enjoyable to do business with; the installers were very efficient and the complete installation took only a couple of days. All "trash" resulting from the installation was hauled off.
A minimum of "bother" was associated with the approval of the installation by the City of Riverside's inspector.
All in all a good experience.
