On April 1, 1960 with their second baby on the way, Donald Teemsma Sr. and mother Barbara founded Ideal Plumbing and Heating. At the time they ran the company as a home-based business with only one ’53 Ford pick-up truck and the garage as the warehouse. In 1962, Ideal Plumbing and Heating outgrew their home when they opened their first storefront shop on Waring Road.
In 1994, Donald Sr. passed the torch to his son Donald Teemsma Jr., who spent his early years in the family hardware store, learning the ins and outs of all kinds of home repair needs. Over the years, Ideal's services have expanded to also specialize in air conditioning, electrical, plus kitchen and bath remodeling.

Tanner was first on the scene with incredible knowledge and answered all of my questions which boosted my confidence in making the decision to change to tankless. Ideal Plumbing, Heating, Air, Electrical spent many hours at my house last week diagnosing and repairing my heater. I was able to get on the schedule the morning after I called. It was a very complex and frustrating job but the technicians figured out the various issues, communicated with manufacturers, and got my heat running again. We had our home serviced by Luciano Cortez from Ideal Plumbing. Many things had to be repaired or replaced, including a kitchen and bathroom faucet, angle stops, water heater expansion tank and the main PRV to correct our water pressure. It was a big project and Luciano took it on like a pro. He was very professional, his work was neat and clean. After struggling with the Insurance Co.,Chris with Ideal Plumbing stopped by and talked about the leaking pipe and gave us straightforward information that made the decision to go ahead and replace the leaking pipe.
