A Sunrun Sales Associate gave me a written quote of $700 more than the actual non-negotiable and fixed cost of a 2-Tesla Battery Backup for my paid off Solar System. His supervisor verbally told me he would look into why I was quoted that overpriced amount, and which is compared to another written quote I received from another Sunrun Sales Associate for $700 less for the same backup option. The supervisor told me he would get back to me within 5-7 business days. After 2+ months, which included text messages and phone calls to the supervisor, there has been no response. I was told by another Sunrun Supervisor, "My complaint is denied." When asked why the original Sales Associate tried to overcharge commit fraud against me, I was told, "If I want to file a lawsuit, I would be given a new complaint number."

They have boosted reviews. Most real customers are not happy. I didn’t fall for the PPA or leased solar option and only wanted a quote for purchasing. Once I made this clear I immediately got ghosted. They are no different than every other company doing solar. They want to use your roof to line their pockets. I would avoid at all costs U less you get a flat out purchase price. Do not do anything other than that with these guys

Warning About Sunrun Solar Panels – My Experience
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
I want to share my unfortunate experience with Sunrun (solar panels) to help you avoid the frustration I’ve gone through. I have been a customer with Sunrun for about three years, but for the past ten months, their solar system has not been working. Despite the system failure and my repeated requests to stop payments until they fix the issue, they continue to charge me monthly for a service I am not receiving.
Their customer service has been unhelpful, and they show no urgency in resolving the problem. I feel trapped in a 20 year contract with a company that does not care about its customers.
Please be cautious if you are considering Sunrun for your solar needs. Based on my experience, their service is unreliable, and they prioritize payments over customer satisfaction.

This company has no accountability.
I recently contacted Sunrun about burned wires on the solar panel that was discovered during a roof replacement. The customer service agent agreed that this something that is under warranty and could be reimbursed. Additionally, the customer service agent reviewed my solar production history and discovered that over the course of my 5 years as a customer, I've had a cumulative 1.5 years where the panels were producing zero solar energy, this resulted in electricity bills over $900. The agent stated that I had a strong case to be reimbursed for those inactive periods because the contract I signed stated that Sunrun was responsible for actively monitoring my solar production to prevent periods of inactivity. The agent stated that a case manager would reach out to me in the next 48 hours. Over the past week I've reached back to Sunrun via email and phone calls for a update, however I still have not been contacted by a case manager.
